BreastWest
Western Health provides 6,000 personal consultations a year for women with breast cancer. The Breast Care Unit provides a quality service for these women, many of whom face significant financial burden as a result of their diagnosis.
BreastWest is a program of Western Health that provides practical care and support for patients with cancer who face financial difficulties as a direct result of treatment. It works in positives way to reduce suffering of patients and their families coping with the diagnosis of breast cancer.
Donations to BreastWest provide personal support and practical care for women undergoing breast cancer treatment including BreastCare packs, transport costs to hospital appointments, wig and breast prostheses and masectomy bras.
BreastWest is 100% funded by donations from the community.
BreastWest Care Pack ProgramBreastWest Care Packs provide personal care items for women diagnosed with breast cancer to help them on their cancer journey.
Each Pack provides for particular needs of women at different stages in their care - to support them at diagnosis, during chemotherapy and when facing surgery. The packs include a mixture of care items and gift vouchers for essential items. A care pack can include:
