Western Health is proud to be named a finalist in three categories for the 2025 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards, a recognition that highlights the dedication, innovation, and compassion of our teams.

Premier’s Large Health Service of the Year 2025

We are honoured to be shortlisted for the Premier’s Large Health Service of the Year, alongside St Vincent’s Hospital and the Royal Women’s Hospital.

Western Health has been recognised for delivering high-quality, innovative, and equitable care to our diverse community.

Our major capital projects are bringing modern healthcare closer to home, while recent service redesigns have significantly reduced emergency wait times and saved thousands of bed days.

Excellence in Women’s Health

Our Custodial Health Addiction Medicine Clinic (CHAMC) at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre is a finalist in the Excellence in Women’s Health category.

CHAMC supports women in custody through specialist, trauma-informed addiction medicine care. The clinic delivers safety, dignity, and recovery-focused treatment via integrated, in-prison services.

It is already improving outcomes and leading national reform through the National Prison Addiction Medicine Network.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Western Health has also been recognised for our innovative lived experience program, which embeds people with disability in service design and staff training roles.

This program is helping to make our care more inclusive and accessible, while also driving lasting cultural change across our organisation.

Congratulations to everyone involved in these outstanding programs, and to all the teams who were nominated.

Winners will be announced at the 19th Victorian Public Healthcare Awards Gala Night on Wednesday, 26 November 2025.
