What we do

The Pelvic Pain Clinic provides specialist pelvic pain care for people with pelvic and reproductive health concerns. It is a comprehensive service, bringing together specialists in a coordinated setting to address the many causes of pelvic pain.  

Services

General Practitioners (GPs) 

Provide comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management of women with pelvic pain, coordinating care and referrals within the multidisciplinary team. 

Nurse Practitioners 

Deliver advanced clinical assessment, prescribe and manage treatments within their scope of practice, provide patient education, and coordinate care to support women with pelvic pain. 

Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNCs)

Provide expert clinical leadership, care coordination, patient education and advocacy, ensuring women receive evidence-based, holistic and person-centred care throughout their journey.

Occupational Therapists 

Support women to manage the functional impact of pelvic pain by developing strategies to improve participation in daily activities, work, self-care and overall quality of life. 

Physiotherapists 

Assess and treat musculoskeletal and pelvic floor dysfunction contributing to pelvic pain, providing evidence-based interventions to improve pain, function and movement. 

Psychologists 

Provide trauma-informed psychological assessment and evidence-based therapies to address the emotional, behavioural and psychosocial impacts of persistent pelvic pain, supporting self-management and wellbeing. 

Dietitians 

Assess nutritional factors that may contribute to pelvic pain symptoms, provide individualised dietary interventions, and support the management of coexisting gastrointestinal and inflammatory conditions. 

Social Workers 

Provide psychosocial assessment, counselling, advocacy and practical support, assisting women to navigate the social, financial and emotional challenges associated with living with pelvic pain. 

Who this service is for

We are committed to delivering compassionate, inclusive, and affirming care that respects each person's identity and healthcare needs. 

We accept referrals to our service for people who are cisgender females, transgender males, gender diverse people (including those who have undergone gender affirming surgeries) and people with innate variations of sex characteristics.
