Attending an appointment for the first time can be overwhelming. Knowing as much as possible before you arrive, while you are here and when you leave can help ease the stress.
What to do before your appointment
- Obtain any test results needed for your appointment.
- Make a list of any medications or supplements you take.
- Write down any questions you may have for the specialist.
- Check your appointment notification for the location of your clinic appointment.
- Check our locations to find your clinic.
What to bring to your appointment
On the day of your appointment, please bring the following items with you:
- Medicare card, pension card or any other concession card you hold (your Medicare card must be presented each time you attend our clinic).
- Your appointment confirmation (text message or letter if available).Your GP's name, address and phone number.
- List of your current medications.
- Any medication, supplements, food or beverages you may need during your hospital visit - there are vending machines and cafes available for purchasing food and beverages at our hospitals.
- Something to do while you wait, such as reading a book or magazine, or using your iPad.

We will do our best to see you as close to your appointment time as we can. Some appointments may take longer than others and unexpected delays can occur. This can lead to longer waits in clinics so please bring items you may need such as food or medication.
