Do I have to pay for my medications?
Medications given during your inpatient stay are free of charge. You will only be charged for medication that you are given to take home on discharge.
Can I get my hospital prescription dispensed at a local pharmacy?
The hospital provides a dispensing service for all discharges that occur during business hours. We can also provide you with a medication list that summarises your prescribed medicines. While we would like to offer you this service, it is possible for your prescription to be dispensed at your local pharmacy.

For other complaints about billing, please contact the Dispensary Manager in the pharmacy department at the hospital where you were staying.
Who can I talk to about my medicines?
The pharmacist on the ward that you are staying on will be able to provide advice about your medicines during your stay in hospital. The outpatients pharmacist will be able to explain your medicines for any outpatient prescriptions you are prescribed. Written information about medicines is also available.
