The Gynaecology Department provides a range of Womens Specialist Clinics below for patients who require assessment and management of gynaecological conditions.

General Gynaecology Service

• Abnormal menstrual bleeding (Heavy, irregular or absent menses or postcoital bleeding)

• Post-menopausal bleeding

• Investigation of pelvic masses

• Pelvic pain

• Endometriosis investigation and management

• Dyspareunia 

• Urinary incontinence

• Cervical and endometrial polyps

• Subfertility requiring investigation

• Recurrent miscarriage

• Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

• Menopause management

• Vulval itch/pain and skin conditions 

• Complications related to female genital cutting

Early pregnancy assessment service (EPAS) 

• Complications in early pregnancy (< 16 weeks of pregnancy)
  

Gynaecology Oncology Service

• Diagnosis, treatment and management for women with precancerous and cancerous gynaecological conditions

Colposcopy Service

• Diagnosis, treatment and management of abnormal cervical screening

Reproductive Choices Service

• Surgical abortion and contraceptive services 7 - 13+6 weeks of pregnancy
  

Pelvic Floor Service

• Pelvic organ prolapse

• Urinary incontinence including transvaginal tape, autologous fascial sling, laparoscopic approaches.

• Voiding difficulty

• Fistulae

• Bladder pain

• Trans-vaginal mesh-related complications or concerns – mesh revision post incontinence procedures

• Outpatient cystoscopy – including outpatient Botox for overactive bladder

• Urodynamics

• Assessment and management of post partum anorectal dysfunction and Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASI) including mode of birth counselling

Advanced Practice Physiotherapy

• Pelvic Organ Prolapse Physiotherapy led Pessary clinic (POPPY)

• Pelvic floor physiotherapy

Advanced Laparoscopy Service

• Advanced laparoscopic surgery to treat severe endometriosis

• Combined colorectal and gynaecological surgery including bowel resection to treat complex gynaecological conditions 

• Transabdominal cerclage for cervical insufficiency 

Public Fertility Service

• Work-up and management of subfertility including fertility treatments. 

• The public fertility care service model is focused on improving access for people who currently have limited access to private services. This service is a satellite clinic linked with the Royal Women’s Hospital
