The department provides training in anaesthesia for Intensive Care Trainees. Generally the 12 months of clinical placements required as part of CICM training is split over 2 years with clinical placements in intensive care at Western Health. Western Health provides 6,000 personal consultations a year for women with breast cancer. The Breast Care Unit provides a quality service for these women, many of whom face significant financial burden as a result of their diagnosis.
