Western Health recognised as national Centre of Excellence for diabetes
Western Health has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence by the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC).
We are among a small number of healthcare providers nationally (under 10) to have obtained this prestigious accreditation.
Our Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit's service coordination across acute hospital, primary care and community settings was noted, along with its commitment to clinical excellence, continuous improvement and innovation.
Western Health’s Manager of Diabetes Education Services, Cheryl Steele, has also recently received an Honorary Life Membership Award from the Australian Diabetes Educators Association. The annual award recognises a single practitioner for their significant contribution to diabetes education.
Western Health CEO Prof Russell Harrison said "Congratulations to our diabetes team on being recognised for outstanding clinical and service excellence. Your dedication makes a meaningful difference to the people and communities we serve.
“We are also incredibly proud of the acknowledgment that Cheryl has personally received for her exceptional contribution to diabetes care and education.”
