Western Health held its virtual Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 19 December 2023, presented by Board Chair Robyn Batten AM and Chief Executive Adjunct Professor Russell Harrison.

- Providing more than 308,608 outpatient attendances, 176,772 emergency and urgent care presentations and 153,134 inpatients episodes of care (As part of these figures, we performed 37,903 surgeries, delivered 6773 babies and provided 2678 Hospital in the Home episodes)
- Becoming a designated mental health provider, welcoming 670 staff as well as consumers and carers
- Opening our 52-bed Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre, with a range of spaces to support social, therapeutic and recreational activities
- Commencing the provision of primary healthcare at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre and building a new custodial health team of 80 staff
- Going live with Phase 2 of our Electronic Medical Record platform, digitally linking emergency departments, inpatients, outpatients and theatre so that clinicians can see the whole patient journey across our health service
- Seeing all five buildings of the new Footscray Hospital at full height and internal fit out underway, on track for opening in 2025
- Winning a Victorian Public Healthcare Award for our Babaneek Booboop Program – supporting the health and development outcomes of First Nations children in Melbourne’s outer west.
