Nephrology is the branch of medicine that specialises in kidneys and their diseases. Our unit offers the full range of renal services including nephrology, dialysis and transplantation services.
Our philosophy of care is to deliver as much care as possible close to the patient's home. We take an outreach approach; dialysis and general nephrology clinics are offered on 5 different sites – Footscray Hospital, Sunshine Hospital, Williamstown Hospital, Sunbury Day Hospital and Melton.

Home Therapies - both haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis
Satellite dialysis – Williamstown, Melton, Sunbury and Sunshine
Chronic Kidney Disease Management
Transplantation management. Transplants are performed at the Royal Melbourne Hospital
Referrals
Referrals for people with Chronic Kidney Disease can be made by GP's to the Department of Nephrology using the referral guidelines.
