Western Health has Pre-Admission clinics operating at Sunshine Hospital and Footscray Hospital. Our friendly staff will help guide you through your surgical preparation by completing your health assessment.
The Pre-Admission assessment may be done through a Phone Call by one of our Nurses, or by attending one of the clinics at Sunshine or Footscray Hospitals.
Clinic appointments at the hospital can take up to 3-4 hours, so please make sure you have eaten well and have a drink available and made any arrangements for child care and parking etc. You will be seen in order of your appointment time and there may be 2 or 3 people at the same appointment time. Please be aware you may also see multiple staff during your clinic appointment.
For Phone assessments, please be available to take the call around your allocated appointment time. The appointments have limited time allocation and some calls may take longer than others, so the phone call may not be at the exact time of the appointment given. Please have all your medications with you. You will also be asked your current height and weight.
