Gynaecology Surgery

 

The Gynaecology Unit performs gynaecologic procedures and surgical management of the most common gynaecological problems. We also perform surgery to treat gynaecological cancers and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Elective minor gynaecological surgery including:

• Hysteroscopic procedures for diagnosis and management of menstrual disorders including uterine polyps

• Cervical procedures: LLETZ and cone biopsy

• Suction curette 

• Endometrial ablation
  

Elective major gynaecological surgery including:

• Laparoscopy to treat endometriosis and causes of pelvic pain

• Hysterectomy, including total laparoscopic hysterectomy, abdominal hysterectomy and vaginal hysterectomy 

• Pelvic floor repair 

• Urinary incontinence procedures

• Diagnostic laparoscopic procedures.

• Elective gynaecological oncology (cancer) surgery

• Advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures with colorectal and urological input

• Myomectomy including open and laparoscopic myomectomy

• Hysteroscopic surgery including management of uterine septa and resection of fibroid
