There are 3 chronic satellite haemodialysis units within Western Health. They are located at Sunshine Hospital, Williamstown Hospital, and the Sunbury Day Hospital. Western Health also are in partnership with Djerriwarrh Health and their chronic satellite haemodialysis unit. Patients who attend these units are often unable to perform their own dialysis at home due to severe co-morbid illness, no family support, or unsuitable housing. They are cared for by specialist haemodialysis nurses and supported by medical and allied health staff.
