Teaching & Education
Western Health is a teaching hospital affiliated with University of Melbourne. As part of the Western Clinical School, the Gynaecology Unit contributes to the structured teaching program and assists undergraduate students to immerse within the clinical environment.
The Gynaecology Unit and Western Health is also accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, RANZCOG, as a training hospital. Specialist training is a 6-year program and our trainee obstetric and gynaecology doctors (registrars) spend valuable time and gain clinical experience at Western Health as part of their core training, and advanced training pathways.
