Maternity Assessment Centre (MAC) is staffed by midwives who work collaboratively with medical staff to care for you, and monitor your baby's health.
Maternity Assessment Centre is both an inpatient and outpatient unit, providing assessment and monitoring:
For labour assessments
If your waters have broken
If your baby movements have reduced
For planned surveillance due to obstetric reasons such as multiple pregnancy
Of medical conditions such as high blood pressure
If you require an Iron Infusion
If you require monitoring when your pregnancy is overdue
If you are planned for an induction of labour
